Community Code of Conduct — The Bridge Adv Runs
Last updated: July 9, 2026 · Draft version
This run and its group chat are part of The Bridge church community in Markham, Ontario. We want a space where everyone feels welcome, respected, and safe — on the court and in the app. By taking part, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct.
The short version
Treat people the way you'd want to be treated. Play hard, keep it friendly, and keep the chat clean.
What we expect
- Respect everyone — teammates, opponents, new players, and the host. Disagree without being nasty.
- Keep it welcoming — this is a faith-based community. Keep your language and content appropriate for a church group of all ages.
- Be honest and fair — on check-ins, spots, and the waitlist. Don't game the system or take a spot you won't use.
- Look out for new players — help people feel included.
What's not allowed
- Harassment or bullying of any kind.
- Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or anything else.
- Threats, intimidation, or violence — in the chat or in person.
- Sexually explicit, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate content.
- Spam, scams, self-promotion, or off-topic flooding of the chat.
- Sharing others' personal information without their permission.
- Impersonating another player, the host, or the Church.
Reporting a problem
If someone crosses a line, or you feel unsafe, tell the host. You can:
- Send a 1:1 message to the host in the app, or
- Reach out directly: Daniel, danieljcheer@gmail.com.
Reports are taken seriously and handled as privately as reasonably possible.
Consequences
Depending on what happened, the host or admins may:
- Remove the message or content.
- Give a warning.
- Temporarily suspend your chat or check-in access.
- Remove you from the run and the app.
Serious issues (threats, harassment, hate) can lead to immediate removal, and may be reported to Church leadership or the authorities if needed.
The host's and admins' decisions are final and made for the good and safety of the whole group.
Thanks for helping keep The Bridge Adv Runs a great place to play and belong.
