Welcome to "The Bridge Adv Runs" (also called "Bridge Runs," "the app"), a simple check-in tool for our weekly recreational basketball run connected to The Bridge church in Markham, Ontario. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The app is currently built and operated by an individual developer (Daniel, "the Developer," "we," "us"). If it is ever handed over to The Bridge church ("the Church"), the Church would operate it under terms like these.
The run has a limited number of floor spots plus a waitlist. Checking in does not guarantee you a spot to play. Spots are offered based on availability, the waitlist, and the host's setup. The host may change the run day, time, spot limits, or cancel a run at any time. We don't promise the run will always happen or that you'll always get to play.
Playing basketball carries a real risk of injury. The app is only a scheduling and communication tool — it does not make the physical activity safe.
The risks of taking part in the run are covered by a separate waiver on the Church's ChurchCenter system, not by this app. You are responsible for reading and signing that waiver as required. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Developer and the Church are not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage that happens during, before, or after the run itself. Nothing in the app is medical or fitness advice.
The app lets you post messages, share photos, and fill in a profile. You are responsible for what you post. By posting, you agree that:
You keep ownership of your own content. We don't claim to own your messages or photos.
To keep the community healthy, hosts and admins may:
We aim to be fair, but these decisions are ultimately at the host's/admin's discretion for the good of the group.
Please don't:
The app is provided "as is" and "as available." It's a community tool run on a best-effort basis. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or secure, and we don't make warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. The app may be unavailable at times (for example, during maintenance or if the host's computer is offline).
To the fullest extent allowed by Ontario law, the Developer and the Church (and anyone helping run the app) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for injury, lost data, or losses arising from your use of the app or the run. Where liability can't be fully excluded, it is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law. Because the app is provided free to the community, this limitation is a fair part of the deal.
We may update these terms as the app changes or if it is handed over to the Church. If we make an important change, we'll let you know through the app or by email. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
You can stop using the app at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the Code of Conduct.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Ontario.
